Where to Watch Jeeves and Wooster in the UK

Where can you watch Jeeves and Wooster in the UK?

Checked on 17 October 2026. We could not confirm an authorised UK streaming offer that currently plays the full series. This is a verification limit, not a claim that no licensed service anywhere carries it. The clearest official evidence is U’s programme page: it explicitly says that Jeeves and Wooster is not currently available on demand. A page headed “watch online” can therefore remain visible without providing episodes to watch.

If you want the Fry and Laurie television production specifically, begin with the documented DVD editions below and check the current retailer offer. If you prefer streaming, revisit the official programme page before starting a subscription elsewhere. Our dated check separates a catalogue record from confirmed access. We did not test playback through a paid account, reserve a disc or complete a retailer checkout, so this guide does not promise that any particular offer will work for your account or delivery address.

DVD: identify the complete collection before buying

The television programme comprises four series and 23 episodes. British Comedy Guide documents several eight-disc complete collections, including UK Region 2 releases from Granada Media and ITV Studios and North American Region 1 releases from A&E. Its record identifies an ITV Studios edition with catalogue number 3711534903 and another with catalogue number 3711529383. These details help distinguish releases whose cover wording looks almost identical. The guide marks several older editions as discontinued, so an existing catalogue entry should not be read as a new-stock guarantee.

Our original DVD route is preserved: Amazon UK lists the ITV Studios Home Entertainment Complete Collection, and composer Anne Dudley’s official Jeeves and Wooster page also links to a DVD product. Her link is useful provenance for the product route, but it does not establish a seller’s current stock. A used copy may be the practical option. Before ordering, compare the disc count and episode coverage with the listing, and read the seller’s condition notes rather than relying on a generic product description.

For a gift, ask for photographs of the actual case and all discs if the seller has not supplied them. An outer box described as complete does not settle whether a particular second-hand copy has every disc inside. Check whether the offer is for the entire television run, one series or a replacement disc. Keep the product identifier with your order confirmation so that you can distinguish the edition you intended to buy from another release using the same programme title.

Region compatibility, subtitles and video format

A UK DVD purchase needs a compatibility check, particularly when ordering from an overseas seller. Sony’s support guidance explains that DVD region codes restrict which players can play a disc; the code appears on the disc or packaging. The documented UK complete sets above are Region 2, whereas the A&E North American editions are Region 1. Look at the actual product being offered, then compare it with your player’s manual. A listing appearing on a UK shopping website does not by itself establish that the disc is a UK edition.

Region code and video format are separate details. Sony advises checking the video standard as well as the region printed on the packaging. Do not assume that a player advertised as compatible with one region automatically handles every imported television format. If you use a games console, computer drive or Blu-ray player, check that device’s DVD specifications rather than its Blu-ray region alone. The safest purchase is an edition whose compatibility you can establish before paying.

British Comedy Guide lists English subtitles for several of the documented releases. If subtitles are important to you, verify them on the specific edition’s packaging or ask the seller; do not transfer one release’s specifications to every other box. The same principle applies to extras and running times. This guide identifies documented products, but we have not watched and compared every disc pressing. There is no tested picture-quality ranking here, and no promise that an older set contains the extras found on a later listing.

BritBox and ITVX: platform history is not programme availability

Older advice about BritBox can be confusing because the UK service changed. Sony published a notice that the BritBox application on its televisions would become unavailable from 30 April 2024 and directed customers to ITVX. ITV’s own help page now explains that BritBox has moved to ITVX and is accessed through ITVX Premium. These sources document the platform transition; they do not establish that Jeeves and Wooster is presently included, or that it was available on BritBox at a particular earlier date.

BritBox International must also be distinguished from the former standalone UK service. ITV’s March 2024 announcement about selling its interest in BritBox International expressly distinguished that business from BritBox UK. An overseas catalogue entry is consequently not evidence of a UK subscription entitlement. We have not found enough current programme-specific evidence to label ITVX, BritBox, Apple TV or Prime Video as a confirmed UK streaming option for the complete series. Search the service itself for playable episodes before subscribing for this programme alone.

YouTube results and unofficial episode uploads

We do not link to unofficial YouTube episode uploads. A video can appear in search without providing a clear licence for the full television programme. A rights-holder’s own short promotional clip, or a composer’s official music page, serves a different purpose from an authorised complete-episode service. Neither should be presented as a way to watch all four series. Our links are chosen for the programme or product information they actually provide.

When checking a viewing suggestion, ask three concrete questions: who is supplying it, does it cover the episodes you want, and is the offer valid in your country? A familiar programme title is only the starting point. If the destination provides no playable episodes, return to the series guide and compare the documented disc options instead of assuming that a broken streaming promise means you have selected the wrong episode.

BBC radio adaptations: a different performance to enjoy

For an authorised audio alternative, BBC Digital Audio publishes Jeeves & Wooster: The Collected Radio Dramas, ISBN 9781787537125. The publisher identifies Michael Hordern as Jeeves and Richard Briers as Bertie. The collection contains dramatisations of The Inimitable Jeeves, Right Ho, Jeeves, The Code of the Woosters, Joy in the Morning, Jeeves and the Feudal Spirit and Stiff Upper Lip, Jeeves. These are BBC radio performances, not the soundtracks of the Fry and Laurie television episodes.

The publisher gives the original BBC Radio 4 broadcast period as 1973–1981 and links to authorised audio retailers, including Audible. This is a good option if what you most enjoy is hearing the dialogue played between characters. It is also a useful comparison after reading one of the novels: you can hear another cast solve the problem of turning Bertie’s narrated account into drama. Check the retailer’s current purchase terms and sample the performance before choosing it.

Stephen Fry’s readings and the books behind the show

Audible separately lists P.G. Wodehouse Volume 1: The Jeeves Collection, narrated by Stephen Fry. Its named contents are The Inimitable Jeeves, Carry On, Jeeves, Right Ho, Jeeves, The Code of the Woosters and Joy in the Morning. This is a book-reading collection rather than a new television series or the BBC radio compilation. The distinction matters if you want Wodehouse’s prose as well as the exchanges between characters.

For a first printed book, our editorial choices are Carry On, Jeeves for short stories or Right Ho, Jeeves for a novel. The book guides below provide the existing Waterstones and Audible options for those titles and other television source material. Reading is especially rewarding when a favourite episode combines several stories: you can follow each original plot at its own pace. Use our episode guides to identify the relevant source rather than assuming that an episode title is also the title of a complete book.
